Built from the ground up and driven by dream outcomes

4Front Services began with a single ute, a set of tools and one simple rule, do it once, do it right.

Matt started as a one-man refrigeration mechanic, building a reputation for quality and reliability across Tasmania. His no-shortcuts attitude became the foundation for what would become 4Front Services, a leader in refrigeration, electrical and air conditioning solutions across Tasmania.

Meanwhile, Brad was forging his path as an electrician. Their dad made it clear:

I don’t care what you do, but you’re getting a job.”

That old-school work ethic stuck. It shaped everything the brothers touched with honest work and the belief that showing up matters more than showing off.

From one ute to a vision

When Matt needed a sparky for growing refrigeration work, he called Brad.

“He asked if I wanted to join him. I had no idea what business was about, but I said yes. Sometimes you just start and figure it out later.”

Soon, Beau joined the crew, another mate who couldn’t ignore the pull of building something bigger. Together, they formed Coad & Co, taking on refrigeration and electrical projects across Tasmania.

Then came Mark, the business mind who could see potential where others saw chaos. Over free pies and scraps of paper at the wholesaler, a new idea took shape which was 4Front Services.

“Four of us, all in. We wanted to be at the forefront of the industry, not just another name on a van.”

Their first office? Their dad’s old chook shed.

“That’s where the chooks went before becoming fertiliser,” Brad laughs. “The smell was something else.”

The turning point: from growth to direction

As 4Front Services expanded to seventeen staff, utes everywhere, projects rolling in, the team realised that growth alone doesn’t equal success.

Our accountant looked us in the eye and said, ‘If you keep doing the same thing, you’ll get the same results.’ That one stuck with me.”

That moment became a turning point. 4Front shifted from muscle to mindset and from just doing the work to mastering how the business worked.

Learning is the real trade

When the industry got tougher, Brad and the team didn’t just double down on hard work, they doubled down on learning.

We realised we didn’t know what we didn’t know,” Brad says. “So we asked for help. We found mentors, invested in professional development and built systems that actually worked.”

Now, education is woven into everything 4Front does:

Our mission from the start was to bridge the gap in the market for reliable, transparent communication and tailored electrical designs. We aimed to create a place where customers could view products in person, receive face-to-face service, and work with experienced trade professionals to develop customised solutions that consider all aspects of their needs.

When you reach out to 4Front Services, you'll speak directly with a local industry expert. Our office is staffed from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, ensuring that your call is handled promptly and professionally. We pride ourselves on being available to answer your questions and guide you through the process right from the start.

Consultation & Estimate

Once you've made contact, your information is swiftly passed on to one of our experienced estimators or project managers. We'll arrange a call or an on-site meeting at a time that suits you to discuss your needs in detail. During this consultation, our expert will develop a tailored design that addresses your specific requirements.

Detailed Quotation

Following the consultation, we provide you with a comprehensive quote. This includes a detailed design, technical information about the equipment we recommend, and a clear breakdown of costs. We believe in transparency, so you’ll know exactly what to expect.

Four
Follow Up

A few days after you receive your quote, we’ll follow up with you to ensure you have all the information you need and to answer any additional questions. We want to make sure you feel fully informed and confident in moving forward.

Scheduling & Completion

If you decide to proceed, we’ll work closely with you to schedule the project at a time that suits you. Our team will coordinate the works to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently, with minimal disruption to your daily life.
